In the photos below, you will see the many helpers building the Mission Hospital. They carry sand, gravel and concrete for the floors, and once walls are erected on each floor, they will brick and plaster them.
There is a wheelchair ramp, used especially for emergencies when the power fails. And you can see on each floor, how the pillars are set to hold the weight of the floor above.
Now that the monsoon season is over, it is time to get started. First priority is to build a fence to keep all the well-meaning but hungry goats, sheep and cows away.
Second priority is water. In India, it is common practice to create "borewells", essentially drilled wells that go as deep as 300 feet down.
